ABOUT US

The European University Cyprus coordinates the two-year Project Politicization of Identities in Diaspora: Cosmopolitanism & Conflict Discourses, which is co-funded by national and European funds, under the scheme Restart 2016 – 2020, Excellence Hubs of the Research & Innovation Foundation. The project consists of four (4) university partners, the European University Cyprus (Department of Education Sciences) which leads the Project, King’s College London, the Open University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia.

The Project explores issues of language, communication and identity in Diaspora and aims to examine Greek-Cypriots’ experiences of living in vibrant multicultural cities such as London and New York, as well as the experience of returning back, looking at whether and how the experience of diaspora influences their perceptions of the legacy of conflict in their country of origin.
